There will be live music, photographers, food & drinks, guest speakers, the Press, and silent auctions for “an hour of time with professionals, consultants, and celebrity entrepreneurs.” Tours will be provided of the new Knoxville Overground community center (for entrepreneurs & local investors) and our coworking workspace every 15 minutes from 7pm – 8pm.
Our guest speakers for the evening will be Paul Sponcia, CEO of Claris Networks (http://www.clarisnetworks.com/) and Dr. Michael Wilcox, Assistant Professor at the University of Tennessee and thought leader in economic development (http://economics.ag.utk.edu/wilcox.html). Be on the lookout as well for a surprise guest of honor.
Attendance is expected to be around 100+.
We’re expecting the same crowd from the The First Annual Knoxville Overground Startup Awards (http://flickr.com/photos/tngew/sets/72157610000779344/), plus you’ll see a few new faces from the economic development sector, venture capital community, angel investors, representatives from various professional organizations, and a variety of members from the UT community in business, public policy, and scientific research.
